Counselling rooted in trauma therapy, not one-size-fits-all
Do these feel familiar?
At You Matter Counselling, the focus is on trauma as a root cause; not just managing day-to-day symptoms. Naamat works with individuals experiencing:
- Childhood and intergenerational trauma, including residential school experiences
- Substance use, addiction, and concurrent mental health challenges
- Anxiety, depression, and overwhelming mood swings
- Relationship patterns, codependency, and difficulty trusting others
- Burnout, exhaustion, and loss of motivation at work
- Chronic pain or physical symptoms with no clear medical cause

"Through building a safe, trustworthy relationship, we were able to revisit trauma I had avoided for decades. The physical symptoms that had plagued me for years stopped by session four. After about 12 sessions, I was ready to return to a place I had avoided for over 50 years." — Anonymous client
"She showed up every single time, no matter what. For months I wasn't ready — but she was there, on doorsteps and street corners, just present. After three months I told her I was ready. I've been sober for over three years. I went back to school. I credit her consistent presence with giving me the courage to try." — Anonymous client
